🌜 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Tdci 2010 Problems
A great all rounder, the Mondeo is one of the best cars I have ever had. Sport model is similar to Zetec spec, mid range. Comfort is excellent, the car is smooth to drive. Diesel engine averages 48 mpg and is fast enough for me. Pre face lift 2010 model, I prefer the look of the car from 2007 - 2010 rather than the update from 2010 - 2014.
Step 1. Put the front of your car up onto the stands. (I'm paranoid so use large 6 Tonne stands and a second smaller set "just in case"). Always be safe when under a car! Step 2. Get under the car from the passenger side behind the wheels and follow the exhaust. find the PDF and inspect the hoses attached.
Mk3 Tdci Replacing Ecu / Questions. I recently bought a Mondeo MK3 2.0 TDCi 2003, with an engine that wont start. The previous owner have had a Ford mechanic troubleshooting the var, and he has concluded that the problem is a faulty ECU. (I dont know if the car have several ECU's, this one is the one controlling the diesel / engine)
Possible causes : An electrical fault in the Turbocharger control circuit. MAP sensor electrical failure. Inspect connectors for signs of damage, water ingress, corrosion, etc. If the code is set at idle renew the turbocharger. Mk 4.5 2.0 163 tdci problems. Just bought a 2012 plate tit x, seems to have a few electrical gremlins. The heated front screen only half of it works literally draw a line down the center, fuse or wire maybe? Also car went into limp mode this morning, lost power acceleration on motorway, came off and switched car off, turned back on, now warning.
I have recently purchased a Ford Mondeo 52 Plate 2.0 TDCI Zetec. When I accelerate mainly in 2nd and 3rd gear i get a plume of black smoke from the exhaust. I have recently removed the EGR and the inlet manifold and given them a thorough clean. This has not seemed to have fixed the problem.

I would like to consult you about my car, Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI 2010 year, due to the reason that it doesn’t work normal after regular service made in the authorized Ford service. Regular service is made at 120.000 km. for a changing of ribbed, wedge belt, oil and all filters.
Overall Mk4’s seem to have shown themselves to be fairly robust cars, but a couple of things do come up fairly frequently; Fuel vaporiser on the 2.0 Diesel – Commonly seems to fail around the 100K miles mark as it cogs up with soot. It is used to heat up the DPF to aid regenerating. Failure causes the DPF to clog up.
Have you got the problem solved? I also have the same DTC code P2002 on my Mondeo 2.0 tdci duratorq -07 but I get it together with P1335 wich is a fault in the EGR System. Did you check your EGR system?
Hello BOF, My original post should have said it was ok on cold start. My mistake. The problem only occurs on warm/hot starts. Fuel consumption is excellent 54mpg actual from my motorway commute.
